Written by Josh Chetwynd

Delroy Lindo has joined the cast of ShadowCatcher Entertainment's "The Book of Stars," also starring Mary Stuart Masterson, Jena Malone and D.B. Sweeney.

Lindo will play a literature professor who has a profound effect on two sisters dealing with the aftermath of their parents' death.

The movie, in production in Seattle, is being directed by Michael Miner from Tasca Shadix's original screenplay. Scott Rosenfelt and Marie Cantin are producing; David Skinner and Larry Estes are executive producing.

Lindo's recent credits include "A Life Less Ordinary" starring Ewan McGregor, Cameron Diaz and Holly Hunter; Ron Howard's "Ransom"; and "Get Shorty" starring John Travolta and Danny DeVito.

ShadowCatcher entered the feature film market this year with "Smoke Signals," adapted by best-selling author Sherman Alexie from his original short stories and directed by Chris Eyre.

Alexie will make his feature directing debut on the adaptation of his novel "Indian Killer" for ShadowCatcher.
